Medical Officer

About the role

The Medical Officer will provide critical and emergency health care to four villages with a total population of about 12,000. The role addresses challenges such as illiteracy and lack of health awareness, coordinating daily medical services, waste disposal and pharmacy supplies while leading community health initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver daily routine medical services including outdoor and indoor patient care, housekeeping, clinical laboratory, pharmacy, waste disposal and physiotherapy.
• Conduct preventive health activities such as diagnostic camps, regular yoga classes, immunization drives and promotion of alternative medicine practices.
• Provide curative care through free consultation camps and minor emergency procedures, including basic trauma care and stabilization.
• Manage maternal health services covering antenatal care, counseling, family planning, promotion of institutional deliveries, post‑natal care, weekly visits by obstetrics & gynaecology specialists and breastfeeding promotion.
• Oversee child health programmes including universal immunization, fortnightly pediatric specialist visits, nutrition education, parenting counseling and pulse‑polio initiatives.
