Medical Assistant – Cardiology (Registered Nurse)

About the role

The Medical Assistant will support a cardiology practice by handling patient interactions, preparing examinations, and performing specialised clinical tasks. The role works closely with doctors, nurses and other staff to ensure smooth daily operations and high‑quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Answer and manage patient phone calls, returning calls and discussing minor clinical issues.
• Collect laboratory specimens and conduct electrocardiograms (EKG) as required.
• Prepare patients for examinations, explain procedures, and assist the cardiologist during exams.
• Promote patient independence by teaching condition‑specific information, medication usage, and self‑care skills.
• Maintain confidentiality, adhere to therapeutic standards, and resolve patient problems using multidisciplinary team strategies.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure coordinated care.

Required profile

• Registered staff nurse with a graduate degree from an accredited medical assisting program.
• Excellent spoken and written English proficiency.
• Willingness to work US shift timings and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Basic knowledge of gastroenterology and heart‑related medication and diet recommendations.
