Mechanical Services Support Technician

About the role

The Mechanical Services Support Technician provides skilled mechanical, maintenance, fabrication, and installation support for Lagoon’s Mechanical Services Department. You will work on ride and attraction projects, fleet maintenance, machine‑shop tasks, industrial painting, fencing, generators, and other mechanical initiatives throughout the park.

Key responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical, maintenance, repair, fabrication, and installation work across the park.
• Assist with ride and attraction installation, including equipment assembly, alignment, and material handling.
• Support automotive and fleet maintenance by conducting inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and cleaning.
• Execute basic machine‑shop operations such as drilling, cutting, grinding, measuring, fitting, and assembly.
• Participate in industrial paint‑shop activities, including sandblasting, surface preparation, masking, painting, and cleanup.
• Install, maintain, and repair fencing, gates, barriers, and handrails.
• Inspect, service, and operate portable and standby generators.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, lifts, forklifts, and, when qualified, cranes and rigging equipment.
• Follow lockout/tagout, fall‑protection, PPE, machine‑guarding, and other safety procedures.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas and promptly report hazards.

• Willingness to support other skilled trades and departments as needed.
• Physical capability to handle tools, equipment, and materials.
• Commitment to follow Lagoon policies, manufacturer requirements, and industry best practices.

Required skills

• Use of hand tools and power tools.
• Operation of lifts, forklifts, and, when trained, cranes and rigging equipment.
• Basic fabrication techniques: drilling, cutting, grinding, measuring, fitting, assembly.
• Industrial painting processes, including sandblasting and surface preparation.
• Lockout/tagout, fall protection, PPE, machine guarding, lifting and rigging safety procedures.
• Inspection, maintenance, and operation of portable and standby generators.
