Mechanical Service Engineer – AWS Data Centers

About the role

Join AWS Infrastructure Services as a Mechanical Service Engineer responsible for the maintenance and operation of critical mechanical and HVAC systems in AWS data centers across India. You will work 24x7 on‑call, ensuring continuous, safe, and efficient operation of the facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting of HVAC equipment (DX units, split AC, ductable AC, VRF, exhaust fans, DAHUs).
• Maintain chilled water systems, including chillers, pumps, motorized valves, dampers, actuators, chemical dosing and make‑up tanks.
• Service fire safety infrastructure such as hydrants, sprinkler systems, and emergency response equipment.
• Conduct generator maintenance (A‑check, B‑check, C‑check, D‑check).
• Execute non‑destructive testing: thermography, eddy‑current, and ultrasonic inspections.
• Develop and manage 52‑week preventive maintenance calendars, MOPs, SOPs, and equipment checklists.
• Coordinate with vendors for spare parts, procurement, and technical training.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and risk‑management protocols.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with mechanical and HVAC systems in an industrial or data‑center environment.
• Ability to work rotational shifts and provide 24x7 on‑call support.
• Strong understanding of safety standards and risk management.
• Effective communication skills for vendor coordination and documentation.

Required skills

• HVAC maintenance (DX, split AC, ductable AC, VRF, exhaust fans, DAHUs)
• Chilled water system operation (chillers, pumps, motorized valves, dampers, actuators)
• Fire safety system maintenance (hydrants, sprinklers)
• Generator maintenance (A‑check to D‑check)
• Non‑destructive testing: thermography, eddy‑current, ultrasonic
• Preventive maintenance planning and documentation (MOPs, SOPs)
