Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Plant Operations

About the role

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for the reliable operation of plant equipment, ensuring optimal performance through routine monitoring, preventive maintenance, and rapid response to breakdowns.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor pumps, motors, blowers, conveyors, compressors and related equipment.
• Carry out routine inspections, record key parameters and perform preventive maintenance according to checklists.
• Support pneumatic systems, valves, gearboxes and rotating equipment, maintaining housekeeping and SOP compliance.
• Maintain shift logbooks, checklists, test reports, calibration records and AMC contracts.
• Attend mechanical breakdowns promptly, diagnose faults (vibration, leakage, bearing issues, abnormal noise, etc.) and replace worn parts.
• Assist engineers and OEM technicians during major repairs and equipment overhauls.
• Follow all mechanical safety procedures, including strict LOTO implementation.
• Document shift activities, utility readings, breakdown details and provide handover notes for the next shift.
• Coordinate with electrical, utility, production and EHS teams for shutdowns, audits and new equipment commissioning.

Required profile

• 4‑6 years of experience in mechanical maintenance.
• ITI Mechanical/Fitter qualification.
• Hands‑on experience with pumps, compressors, gearboxes, conveyors and rotating equipment.
• Ability to read basic mechanical drawings (GA, isometrics, P&ID).
• Strong troubleshooting skills in mechanical systems.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Safety‑first mindset with knowledge of industrial safety norms.
