Mechanical Maintenance Fitter cum Welder

About the role

We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Fitter cum Welder to join our Rajkot facility. The successful candidate will ensure the safe and efficient operation of our mechanical equipment and production lines through routine maintenance, troubleshooting and welding work.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on mechanical equipment, machinery and production lines.
• Diagnose mechanical issues, replace or repair components and conduct inspections to minimise downtime.
• Carry out welding and fabrication tasks such as cutting, joining and repairing metal structures according to technical drawings and safety standards.
• Support the installation of new machinery and collaborate with engineers, supervisors and the maintenance team.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and adhere to company safety procedures and quality guidelines.

Required profile

• Strong mechanical maintenance and repair experience with industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles applied in manufacturing or metals/mining operations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and basic CAD layouts.
• Experience inspecting mechanical components to identify wear, defects and safety issues.
• Proficiency in arc, MIG or TIG welding, metal cutting and fabrication with a focus on safety and quality.
• Understanding of industrial safety practices, lockout/tagout procedures and proper use of PPE.
• Relevant technical qualification or trade certification in mechanical fitting, welding or a related field.
• Previous experience in a metals, mining or manufacturing environment is an advantage.
