Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Machine Shop

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to ensure the smooth operation of our machine shop equipment. The role involves maintaining a range of machines, executing preventive maintenance, and quickly resolving breakdowns to minimise downtime.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and operate machine shop equipment such as Vertical Turning Lathes, standard lathes, floor boring machines and deep‑hole drilling machines.
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules, TPM activities and respond to breakdowns.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including pumps, valves, cylinders and circuits.
• Perform machine alignment, leveling, calibration and ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Diagnose mechanical failures, conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Manage lubrication practices and monitor lubrication systems.
• Prepare critical spare‑parts lists, monitor inventory and ensure parts availability.
• Carry out periodic overhauls of machines, gearboxes and mechanical assemblies.
• Follow safety standards, LOTO procedures and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, EMS and OHSAS.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, checklists and audit documentation.

Required profile

• 7 to 9 years of experience in mechanical maintenance within an industrial setting.
• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Ability to work independently and handle both preventive and breakdown maintenance.
