About the role

Vedanta is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering Professional to lead maintenance and reliability initiatives across its mining and plant operations in Rajasthan. The role focuses on ensuring optimal equipment performance, cost efficiency, and strict compliance with safety and statutory regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute shutdowns, CAPEX projects, and preventive & predictive maintenance programs.
• Manage spare parts planning and consumption to support uninterrupted operations.
• Ensure compliance with HZL Safety Standards, DGMS guidelines, and other statutory regulations for mechanical safety in underground mines.
• Inspect equipment condition regularly and monitor O&M costs for reduction opportunities.
• Utilize the VSAP framework to improve performance scores and drive continuous improvement.
• Implement innovative maintenance strategies and new technologies to reduce downtime and increase equipment availability.
• Prepare and submit monthly performance reports including MTTR, MTBF, breakdown analysis, and OEE.
• Maintain 100% compliance with the AO Module and ensure its effective implementation within the department.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in mines, plant, or smelter environments.
• B.E. / B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven track record of leading large‑scale maintenance and reliability projects.
• Strong understanding of statutory and safety regulations applicable to underground mining.
