Mechanical Engineering Manager

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a senior leader to oversee mechanical systems and equipment design for its semiconductor and advanced display manufacturing equipment. The role combines technical leadership with people management to drive innovative solutions for customers worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise a mechanical engineering group, handling staffing, technical mentoring, professional development, and budget adherence.
• Lead and execute complex engineering projects, ensuring on‑time product releases and prompt resolution of difficult issues.
• Coordinate cross‑functional integration of engineering resources to meet challenging product goals.
• Interface with internal and external customers to address complex mechanical issues across a range of products.
• Generate product specifications and drive the engineering development of high‑complexity projects.
• Document all phases of project and process development, ensuring compliance with safety, confidentiality, and company policies.

Required profile

• 12+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in semiconductor equipment.
• Proven ability to provide technical direction, mentor staff, and manage budgets.
• Strong problem‑solving skills with judgment to act within defined procedures.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for presenting technical information and gaining cooperation across teams.
