Mechanical Engineering Change Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Change Engineer to lead the Engineering Change Request (ECR) process for product families in Bangalore. You will coordinate cross‑functional teams, evaluate change impacts, and ensure efficient implementation of engineering changes.

Key responsibilities

• Launch, release, approve and implement engineering change requests (ECR/ECO) for new and existing products.
• Review ECOs for completeness, bill of material structure, customer and organizational impact.
• Estimate manufacturing costs, define tooling and process requirements using DFx principles.
• Gather operational and test data, perform root‑cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Change Implementation Board (CIB) members and ensure proper routing of ECOs.
• Train and coach ECO participants, mediate conflicts and identify continuous‑improvement opportunities.

Required profile

• B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
• 5–8 years of experience in engineering change management within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of supplier processes and cross‑functional collaboration.

Required skills

• Knowledge of ECR/ECO processes and related documentation.
• Experience with PLM systems (Teamcenter) and PDM (SAP).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and UGNX.
• Working knowledge of MS Office, Lotus Notes and Visio.
