Mechanical Engineer – Pumping Station & Gas Infrastructure

About the role

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer specialized in pumping stations and gas infrastructure to provide comprehensive engineering solutions for large‑scale projects. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to design, analyse, and deliver safe, cost‑effective gas distribution systems.

Key responsibilities

• Develop overall engineering solutions, specifications and procurement support for infrastructure projects.
• Conduct feasibility studies for gas networks, comparing options such as LPG and SNG during master‑plan stages.
• Design gas farms, primary and secondary pressure regulating stations (PPRS & SPRS) and associated piping networks for developments of all scales.
• Ensure designs comply with ADNOC, GASCO, Civil Defence, NFPA and other relevant standards.
• Provide technical guidance on gas distribution, transmission and storage systems, and oversee project execution from conception to completion.
• Identify and mitigate risks, prepare contingency plans, and maintain accurate project records and technical documentation.
• Review contractor shop drawings and material submittals, organise progress meetings and support budget preparation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in mechanical engineering for gas infrastructure and pumping stations.
• Strong knowledge of local and international standards (ADNOC, GASCO, NFPA, Civil Defence).
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and act as a client liaison.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and risk‑management skills.
