Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Bangalore team. You will work on cutting‑edge semiconductor equipment, applying mechanical engineering principles to develop and validate high‑precision products.

Key responsibilities

• Perform engineering analysis and systems‑level design evaluation under general supervision.
• Design or modify mechanical layouts, schematics, and specifications.
• Conduct simulation‑based analysis (FEA, thermal, CFD) to validate designs and troubleshoot results.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams from ideation to production release.
• Document comprehensive engineering test reports and generate release documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 4‑6 years of mechanical design, engineering, or product development experience.
• Hands‑on experience with simulation tools (FEA, CFD, thermal analysis).
• Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, CATIA) and understanding of GD&T.

Required skills

• ANSYS (or equivalent) for FEA/CFD/thermal analysis.
• SolidWorks, NX, or CATIA for CAD modeling.
• GD&T knowledge.
• Strong understanding of stress analysis, material properties, and dynamics.
