Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials, a global leader in materials science and engineering solutions, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the development of advanced semiconductor and display equipment. You will work on challenging mechanical problems that enable AI‑driven technologies and next‑generation chip commercialization.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical issues with limited supervision.
• Develop, design, and modify mechanical layouts, schematics, and drawings for difficult‑scope projects.
• Perform engineering analysis and generate detailed test reports.
• Lead or execute projects, develop key suppliers, and create mechanical product specifications.
• Design and implement custom tooling, fixturing, and associated processes for handling, assembly, and disassembly of components.
• Specify, review, and maintain engineering documentation and standards.
• Implement solutions for complex product issues and communicate technical information clearly.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4–7 years of relevant experience in mechanical design and analysis.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD software.
• Knowledge of thermodynamics and sheet‑metal design.
• Experience in material selection and manufacturing methods.
• Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
• Capability to perform flow analysis.
• Familiarity with Design for Excellence principles.
