Mechanical Engineer II

About the role

The Mechanical Engineer II will design, develop, analyze and validate mechanical components and assemblies for Gilbarco Veeder-Root’s dispenser platforms. The role bridges design engineering and operations, using 3-D modelling, calculations and simulations to ensure robust, cost-effective products.

Key responsibilities

• Create detailed solid models and engineering drawings in Creo 3, applying DFA, DFM and DFS principles.
• Select and specify materials that meet design intent while minimizing cost.
• Apply GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis and conduct FMEA to ensure design robustness.
• Perform engineering change management using Windchill and SAP.
• Validate structural performance and safety factors with finite element analysis (FEA) and, where required, CFD.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and operations teams for new-product introduction and production line support.
• Execute engineering and cross-functional team builds to verify designs.

Required profile

• Hands-on experience designing sheet-metal, plastic, casting and rubber components at subsystem or system level.
• Proven ability to perform design calculations and interact with operations teams.
• Background in automotive, home-appliance or consumer-product component design.
• Familiarity with material properties and selection.
