Mechanical Engineer – Design Engineer (Autodesk Inventor)

About the role

Vertiv is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its Design Engineering team. The role focuses on designing enclosures, panels, cable trays, and other electro‑mechanical equipment using Autodesk Inventor, while ensuring compliance with international and company standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop conceptual and detailed CAD models for sheet‑metal parts, assemblies, and modular enclosures.
• Create complete mechanical documentation, including part & assembly drawings, installation drawings, fabrication weldment drawings, material submittals, BOMs, and weight calculations.
• Ensure designs follow ISO, national, and Vertiv engineering standards and best practices.
• Participate in project team meetings, supplier coordination, and on‑site coordination when required.
• Report project status to the Lead Engineer and align timelines across North America, India, EMEA, and ANZ regions.

Required profile

• Professional experience in mechanical design of enclosures, panels, switchboards, cable trays, and mounting hardware.
• Familiarity with drawing documentation, ISO standards, and other relevant mechanical engineering standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary engineering team and communicate design intent clearly.

Required skills

• Autodesk Inventor (CAD modeling and sheet‑metal design)
