Mechanical Design Engineer – Turbine Shaft Line

About the role

Arabelle Solutions, part of EDF Group, is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Turbine Design Execution Team. You will work on the detailed design of shaft‑line components for world‑class nuclear steam turbines, contributing to the development of bearings, journal and thrust bearings, anchoring systems, and steam inlet piping.

Key responsibilities

• Apply internal design rules to create and adapt steam turbine components.
• Perform design verification through calculations and functional specifications.
• Prepare manufacturing plans and generate component part lists stored in the RPDM database.
• Participate in intellectual property protection by proposing patent‑worthy innovations.
• Standardise legacy models and limit part variants.
• Maintain technical documentation using official tools.

Required profile

• Engineering degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a mechanical design environment (energy, oil, aeronautics, special machines).
• Proven record of mechanical design work and familiarity with internal standards.
• Fluent English (speaking, listening, reading, writing).

Required skills

• Catia V5 for 3D modelling and drawing creation.
• Knowledge of standard mechanical parts (plates, tubes, bolts, flanges).
• Understanding of manufacturing processes (welding, casting, forging, turning, milling).
• Material selection expertise.
• Use of RPDM database and PLM software (Enovia preferred).
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
