Materials Controller

About the role

The Materials Controller will be based on‑site in Tiruchirappalli, overseeing the flow of materials needed for construction, infrastructure and oil‑and‑gas projects. You will ensure that all material handling activities are performed accurately, safely and in line with project schedules.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, inspect and issue materials to project sites and internal departments.
• Maintain up‑to‑date inventory records and monitor stock levels.
• Coordinate material movements to guarantee timely availability for ongoing operations.
• Collaborate with procurement, warehouse and project teams to track usage and manage storage conditions.
• Support compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Update documentation, report discrepancies and drive continuous improvement in materials management processes.

Required profile

• Strong background in material handling and materials management.
• Experience in inventory management and stock optimisation.
• Proven ability to coordinate procurement and supplier activities.
• Relevant experience in construction, infrastructure or oil‑and‑gas projects.
• Ability to use inventory and materials management software together with solid MS Office skills.
• Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and clear documentation habits.
• Effective communication and teamwork capabilities.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply‑chain, logistics or a related field (preferred).
