Material Project Manager

About the role

Applied Materials is a global leader in materials engineering solutions that enable the production of advanced semiconductor and display chips. The Material Project Manager will drive material strategy, supplier coordination, and cost‑control for product development projects in Bangalore.

Key responsibilities

• Forecast and communicate engineering, materials, and manufacturing requirements to suppliers.
• Perform make‑versus‑buy analysis to support outsourcing decisions.
• Coordinate demand signals through MRP to minimize inventory exposure.
• Lead the Materials Core Team and manage product‑development deliverables across buyers, planners, and production control.
• Collaborate with engineering to interpret technical requirements and identify critical or long‑lead parts.
• Negotiate supplier pricing, delivery terms, and contracts while assessing supplier risk and performance.

Required profile

• Demonstrated depth of expertise in materials engineering or a related discipline.
• Ability to interpret business challenges and recommend best‑practice solutions.
• Experience leading functional teams or projects with moderate complexity.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills to drive innovative solutions.
• Effective communication and negotiation skills for cross‑functional collaboration.
