Material Handler - Level 1

About the role

The Material Handler – Level 1 will operate forklifts and stackers to move, locate, and store merchandise in a warehouse or factory environment. The role ensures safe handling of goods, maintains accurate inventory records, and supports overall warehouse efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Operate a forklift and stacker to transport goods throughout the facility.
• Load and unload merchandise from trailers, containers, and pallets.
• Locate, retrieve, and store items in an orderly, accessible manner.
• Conduct daily forklift inspections and report any issues.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow safety protocols.
• Oversee receipt, storage, and issuance of raw materials, components, consumables, and finished goods.
• Maintain accurate stock records using ERP/SAP and perform regular physical stock audits.
• Verify incoming materials against purchase orders and quality specifications.
• Collaborate with production, maintenance, procurement, and quality teams to ensure uninterrupted material flow.
• Document inventory transactions, GRNs, and issue slips while complying with company policies.
• Identify process‑improvement and cost‑saving opportunities, applying FIFO/LIFO as required.

Required profile

• Ability to safely operate a forklift and stacker.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse and inventory management practices.
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
• Willingness to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment.
