Marine Structural Engineer – Part‑time (Chennai)

About the role

Assystem is seeking a Marine Structural Engineer to join its Chennai team on a part‑time basis. The role focuses on the design and analysis of marine structures such as ports, jetties, berths and offshore platforms, ensuring compliance with international standards and marine loading conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Perform structural design and analysis of marine and offshore structures (steel and concrete).
• Develop load calculations for wave, wind, current, seismic, berthing and mooring loads.
• Conduct structural modelling using SACS, STAAD, SAP2000 or ANSYS.
• Prepare design calculations, reports, drawings and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams throughout project phases.
• Support site inspections, fabrication reviews and structural integrity assessments.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• Master’s degree in Marine Structures, Offshore Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in design and analysis of marine structures, ports, harbour or offshore oil & gas infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of marine structural design principles and loading conditions.
• Excellent communication and report‑writing abilities.
