Manufacturing Engineer – Process Improvement

About the role

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support operations and drive continuous improvement of manufacturing processes. You will work across defence aero‑engine production lines, ensuring safety, quality, cost, delivery and lead‑time targets are consistently met.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support to operations and execute manufacturing engineering activities.
• Ensure all processes comply with Health, Safety & Environmental standards and the Zero Harm programme.
• Maintain product safety by guaranteeing processes meet design intent and specifications.
• Promote a zero‑defect culture, collaborating with all functions to achieve Right First Time.
• Act as technical authority, applying process controls and signing off where delegated.
• Identify and develop new or improved manufacturing processes, digital systems and technologies.
• Plan and manage projects, including schedule, resources, costs and risk mitigation.
• Develop, validate, implement and continuously improve manufacturing methods and digital tools.
• Drive best‑practice standards in partnership with commodity leaders and process owners.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and share knowledge to enhance overall capability.

Required profile

• Proven experience in manufacturing engineering within a high‑tech or aerospace environment.
• Strong understanding of safety, quality, cost, delivery and lead‑time (SQCD) principles.
• Ability to lead projects, manage resources and communicate status to stakeholders.
• Experience working with digital manufacturing systems and data‑driven process improvement.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a commitment to continuous improvement.
