Supplier Manager - Castings & Forgings

About the role

The Supplier Manager for Castings & Forgings will lead the sourcing and development of critical components for Ather's electric vehicles. You will manage the supplier base from technical kick‑off through mass production, ensuring quality, cost efficiency and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze historical spend, forecast demand and manage FY outlooks for the casting and forging category.
• Oversee the full tooling lifecycle from Technical Kick‑Off (TDKO) to milestone‑based payment releases.
• Ensure Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) for prototype, OE sample phases and low/high volume production.
• Drive 4M readiness (Man, Machine, Method, Material) and verify supplier capacity for smooth Start of Production (SOP).
• Sign‑off on final PPAP/PSW documents and Packaging Sheet (PSS) trials.
• Lead complex negotiations on cost, timelines and terms using a Total Cost of Ownership approach.
• Implement commodity strategy, maintain long‑term roadmaps and monitor market dynamics.
• Collaborate with internal teams to define product requirements and prepare comprehensive RFQ packages.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Production preferred).
• 8+ years of sourcing or supply chain experience in automotive or manufacturing, focusing on castings and forgings.
• Proven competency in supplier fulfillment, demand‑supply management and negotiation.
• Experience with RFQ management and engagement with suppliers.
