Manufacturing Engineer

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and maintain fabrication methods for parts, components, sub‑assemblies and final assemblies. You will collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams to launch product improvements and new products while driving cost reduction and quality enhancements.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain all methods, operating sequences, and processes used in the fabrication of parts, components, sub‑assemblies, and final assemblies.
• Work with other engineering functions to coordinate the release of product improvements and new products, and manage manufacturing engineering projects as required.
• Lead teams in applying Design for Excellence (DFx) principles to estimate and reduce manufacturing and product costs and to improve product quality.
• Determine time standards, recommend tooling and process requirements, and establish efficient production workflows.
• Develop and use test procedures, evaluate test results, and assess work methods, procedures, and policies to ensure operational success.
• Identify root causes of assembly or system‑testing issues, perform Process Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (PFMEA), and provide corrective‑action reports.
• Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering continuous‑improvement culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• 4–7 years of relevant manufacturing engineering experience.
• Demonstrated conceptual knowledge and technical problem‑solving ability.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex information and build consensus.
