About the role

The Transaction Resilience team at Mastercard is looking for a seasoned engineering leader to drive the development of secure, high‑performance payment solutions. As a Manager, you will oversee multiple engineering teams building both backend services and consumer‑facing features that protect the payment ecosystem from fraud. You will collaborate closely with product owners to deliver innovative products and bundles that enhance the customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Formally supervise and coach multiple engineering teams delivering backend and consumer‑facing services.
• Partner with business and product owners to define, develop and launch new payment‑related products and bundles.
• Set annual objectives, monitor progress and continuously review development plans.
• Recruit, hire and retain top technical talent, ensuring a high‑performing team.
• Manage budgets, forecasting and cost allocation while meeting business needs.
• Drive engineering productivity, quality and compliance with technology policies.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading 15+ engineers across several teams in a technology organization.
• Strong background in Java development, secure coding standards and vulnerability management.
• Hands‑on knowledge of modern frameworks such as Spring Boot, React or Angular.
• Deep understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux) and performance debugging.
• Ability to guide teams on best practices, code reviews, branching strategies and test‑driven development.
• Experience with system architecture, capacity planning and incident mitigation (MTTM, high availability).
