Manager, Hindi Original Movies

About the role

MGM Studios is looking for an experienced Manager to lead the creative development of Hindi original movies for theatrical release. The role combines creative vision with operational oversight, guiding projects from pitch through green‑light and launch.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end creative development for theatrical feature films, managing pitch intake, evaluation and progression through development milestones.
• Serve as primary creative liaison with writers, directors, producers and agents, owning the pitch funnel and delivering outcomes.
• Organise and run pitch presentations, talent meetings, script‑readers’ notes and internal creative reviews, ensuring timely follow‑up.
• Maintain development trackers, production roadmaps and status reports, capturing meeting minutes, action items and decision logs.
• Shadow projects through packaging, financing and production, troubleshooting creative and operational blockers.
• Scout and track creative talent across the theatrical landscape, maintaining an up‑to‑date talent ecosystem and attachment lists.
• Support senior executives with creative assessments, coverage and recommendation memos for green‑light decisions.
• Act as cross‑functional liaison between development, production, legal, finance and distribution to align creative strategy.

Required profile

• 8+ years of direct theatrical experience in feature‑film development, production or studio creative roles.
• Prior employment at a studio, production company or equivalent theatrical organization.
• Proven record of independently leading multiple feature films from development through production to release.
• Deep knowledge of theatrical development processes, packaging, financing and studio decision‑making.
• Exceptional story sensibility with strong script evaluation abilities.
• Excellent project‑management, organisational and tracking‑system skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication, comfortable briefing senior executives.
• Experience managing relationships with writers, directors, agents and producers.
