Manager - Direct Tax

About the role

The Direct Tax Manager will support Quess Corp’s tax function by ensuring compliance with Indian direct tax regulations, assisting with tax planning, and providing advisory support across the organization. The role involves preparing returns, handling assessments, and collaborating with finance, legal and business teams to align tax strategies with business objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and file corporate income tax returns and related direct tax compliance for Quess Group entities.
• Monitor changes in direct tax laws, regulations and judicial pronouncements, and communicate implications.
• Support senior team members in tax planning initiatives, business transactions and advisory assignments.
• Assist in managing tax notices, assessments, audits and inquiries from tax authorities, including documentation preparation.
• Prepare appeal papers and supporting documents for proceedings before CIT(A), DRP and other appellate authorities.
• Collaborate with Finance, Accounts, Legal and Business teams to resolve tax‑related matters.
• Maintain accurate tax records, reconciliations and supporting documentation for audit readiness.
• Assist with Transfer Pricing compliance and documentation activities.

Required profile

• CA qualification (preferred) with 2‑5 years of post‑CA experience.
• Strong understanding of Indian Direct Tax laws and regulations.
• Analytical and research‑oriented mindset.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
