Maintenance Specialist

About the role

The Maintenance Specialist will ensure the reliability and efficiency of equipment used in hard gelatin capsule production. You will lead maintenance planning, oversee installations, and manage a team of technicians to minimise downtime and support continuous production.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for all production equipment.
• Coordinate with production and engineering teams to schedule maintenance with minimal impact on output.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and drive timely resolutions.
• Oversee installation and commissioning of new machinery, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Conduct performance tests and post‑installation inspections.
• Maintain an inventory of spare parts, source and procure components cost‑effectively.
• Lead, coach, and train a team of maintenance technicians.
• Identify and implement continuous‑improvement initiatives to boost equipment reliability.
• Document all maintenance activities, manage work orders, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Required profile

• Proven experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a pharmaceutical or similar manufacturing environment.
• Strong ability to plan and execute preventive maintenance programs.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a hands‑on approach to equipment troubleshooting.
• Experience leading a technical team and delivering training.
• Good understanding of safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
