Mainframe Systems Programmer - Network

About the role

Ensono is seeking a Mainframe Systems Programmer specialized in Network to deliver premium support for its mainframe clients. The role involves configuring, tuning and troubleshooting z/OS network components and related OEM software, while providing 24x7 assistance across multiple time zones.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to customer service requests for mainframe z/OS network issues promptly.
• Install, upgrade and customize mainframe network ISV products following Ensono best practices.
• Provide primary support for reported problems on mainframe network and related software.
• Assist with customer migrations, ensuring network components are ready for transition.
• Collaborate with Disaster Recovery Services and other technical teams to execute DR plans.
• Maintain detailed documentation of issue cause, actions taken and resolution in the problem tracking system.
• Follow ITSM change control procedures and manage resources efficiently.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of professional experience in mainframe network programming support.
• Thorough understanding of mainframe operating system principles and subsystems.
• Self‑motivated, able to work independently and under tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work as part of a team and support multiple clients simultaneously.
