Mainframe Host Network Support Engineer

About the role

The Mainframe Host Network Support (HNS) role at Kyndryl involves delivering end‑to‑end support for enterprise mainframe environments. You will ensure the stability, availability and performance of host network systems while working with large‑scale clients across various industries.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end HNS support for enterprise mainframe environments.
• Own stability, availability and performance of host network systems.
• Act as the primary subject‑matter expert for VTAM, TCP/IP and Communication Server.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting using traces, dumps and packet analysis.
• Drive root‑cause analysis and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.
• Manage VTAM configuration and session management.
• Tune TCP/IP stack and optimise performance.
• Configure PAGENT policies.
• Conduct deep‑dive analysis with IPTRACE, NETSTAT, OSA traces, VTAM traces and other network diagnostics.

Required profile

• Experience supporting enterprise mainframe host network environments.
• Strong knowledge of VTAM, TCP/IP and Communication Server on mainframe platforms.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot complex network issues using trace and dump tools.
• Capability to perform root‑cause analysis and deliver permanent solutions.
