Machine Operator/Shop Assistant

About the role

Borneo Roots is seeking a full‑time Machine Operator/Shop Assistant to join its production team in Kottayam. You will operate and monitor machinery safely, support shop activities, and help maintain a clean, efficient workspace.

Key responsibilities

• Operate production machines, perform start‑up and shut‑down procedures, and conduct basic maintenance checks.
• Assist with daily shop tasks such as handling hand tools, preparing materials, and organizing the work area.
• Perform routine quality inspections on products and report any defects or equipment issues promptly.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness standards throughout the shift.
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth operations.

Required profile

• Prior experience in a manufacturing, workshop, or FMCG processing environment is advantageous.
• Ability to follow safety procedures, lift moderate weights, and stand for extended periods.
• Basic reading and writing skills with a willingness to learn standard operating procedures.
• Reliability in attendance and a positive, team‑oriented attitude.
