Machine Operator

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Machine Operator to lead a production team in a manufacturing environment. The role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining machinery while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and supervise team members, ensuring compliance with plant safety rules.
• Inspect machine area daily before start‑up and follow the production schedule.
• Set up machines using proper techniques, perform quality checks, and document any downtime or waste.
• Complete required paperwork, production data, safety and quality reports each shift.
• Execute preventive maintenance tasks and report maintenance needs.
• Cross‑train on additional equipment and assist the Assistant Operator as needed.
• Report any food packaging safety concerns to the appropriate manager.

Required profile

• Ability to read tape measures quickly and perform basic mathematical calculations (percentages, volumes, rates).
• Strong common‑sense reasoning to follow written, oral, or graphic instructions.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lb, and perform repetitive hand motions.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
