Machine Operator – Blasting & Maintenance

About the role

We are looking for a Machine Operator to join our Tumakuru facility, where you will be responsible for operating blasting equipment and supporting maintenance activities. You will work within Oerlikon’s surface technology division, ensuring processes meet quality and environmental standards.

Key responsibilities

• Operate blasting machines to treat substrates, fixtures and machine parts.
• Perform routine maintenance and fixture upkeep on blasting equipment.
• Adhere to all safety, 5S and discipline requirements.
• Follow QMS and EMS standards for all processes.
• Identify failures, initiate preventive actions and suggest improvement ideas.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high performance.

Required profile

• Customer‑oriented mindset with good communication skills.
• Positive and open attitude.
• Basic computer literacy and ability to work with an ERP system.

Required skills

• Operation of blasting equipment.
• Fixture maintenance.
• Use of ERP software for production tracking.
