Linux System Administrator – Production & Cloud

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Linux System Administrator to manage and optimise our production Linux infrastructure across multiple distributions and cloud platforms. You will ensure high availability, security, and performance while supporting development and operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, configure and maintain RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu and Debian servers in production.
• Perform OS installations, patching, kernel upgrades, package management and ensure system reliability.
• Manage user accounts, authentication (LDAP/AD/PAM), storage (LVM, NFS/CIFS) and backup/restore processes.
• Configure and troubleshoot networking components including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, bonding, routing and firewalls (iptables/firewalld).
• Monitor infrastructure with Nagios, Zabbix, Prometheus and Grafana, and resolve performance or capacity issues.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of complex system, application, storage and network problems.
• Implement security hardening, vulnerability remediation, SELinux/AppArmor policies and manage SSL/TLS certificates.
• Automate tasks using Bash, Ansible and IaC tools such as Terraform or Puppet.
• Design and support high‑availability, disaster‑recovery, virtualization, container (Docker/Kubernetes) and hybrid‑cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) environments.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks and SOPs.
• Provide L2/L3 escalation support, mentor junior engineers and participate in on‑call rotations.

Required profile

• 3–8 years of hands‑on Linux administration in production.
• Strong proficiency with at least two major distros (RHEL/CentOS and Ubuntu preferred).
• Solid understanding of Linux internals, process management and kernel tuning.
• Experience with storage technologies (LVM, RAID) and networking fundamentals.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
• RHCSA or equivalent certification is a plus.
