Linux System Administrator & Oracle DBA

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Linux System Administrator with strong Oracle DBA expertise to own and improve our application and database infrastructure supporting market‑research data platforms across production and non‑production environments.

Key responsibilities

• Administer, support and optimise Linux servers and Oracle database environments.
• Install, configure, patch, backup, recover and tune Oracle databases.
• Collaborate with the Application Infrastructure Manager to define support and maintenance strategies.
• Ensure high availability and resilience for both production and non‑production systems, including out‑of‑hours support.
• Monitor system and database performance, proactively resolve issues and implement alerting/reporting.
• Design and develop automation tools to improve operational efficiency.
• Implement and maintain disaster‑recovery solutions such as RMAN, Data Guard, clustering and load balancing.
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation.

Required profile

• Proactive and experienced Linux and Oracle DBA professional.
• Ability to take ownership of infrastructure components and drive continuous improvement.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and willingness to suggest innovative solutions.

Required skills

• Linux server administration.
• Oracle Database administration (installation, configuration, patching, backup, recovery, performance tuning).
• RMAN and Data Guard for disaster recovery.
• Clustering and load‑balancing technologies.
• Monitoring, alerting and reporting tools.
• Automation/scripting for infrastructure tasks.
