Linux Administrator

About the role

Ericsson’s system administration team supports multiple telecom service providers worldwide, handling Linux, Solaris, AIX, and modern cloud technologies. The Linux Administrator will work on Linux and Ansible activities, ensuring high customer satisfaction and system uptime while collaborating with internal and external teams.

Key responsibilities

• Provide system administration support for Linux environments across telecom customers.
• Automate tasks using Ansible playbooks and shell scripts.
• Maintain high availability and performance of technical infrastructure.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to resolve issues.
• Stay up‑to‑date with emerging technologies and share knowledge with peers.

Required profile

• 5+ years of Linux administration experience in a complex, process‑oriented global IT environment.
• Strong background in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL 6/7/8), performance tuning, capacity planning, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with LVM, filesystem management, security hardening (SELinux, firewalls, iptables) and network services (NFS, DNS, Apache, FTP/SFTP, NTP, SMTP).
• Knowledge of Red Hat PCS clustering, basic VMware virtualization, and backup/recovery procedures.
