Legal Counsel – UK & India Operations

About the role

ScrumConnect is expanding its in‑house legal function to support UK operations from its Bengaluru office. The Legal Counsel will provide immigration, contract and compliance support for the UK business, working closely with UK leadership, hiring managers and external counsel.

Key responsibilities

• Review and quality‑check Certificate of Sponsorship applications for Skilled Worker, Senior, Specialist, Global Business Mobility and Graduate visas, ensuring compliance with UKVI rules.
• Assist with Security Clearance (SC, CTC, DV) documentation for candidates joining UK government projects.
• Advise candidates and employees on visa pathways, eligibility, timelines and dependant routes.
• Maintain accurate records of visa, sponsorship and clearance cases and support sponsor licence compliance audits.
• Draft, review and negotiate NDAs, subcontracting agreements, Heads of Terms and flow‑down provisions for UK government engagements.
• Manage the NDA template library, approval workflows and contract register with key‑date tracking.
• Provide final legal review for onboarding compliance of contractors and permanent staff.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience with UK immigration administration, including Skilled Worker and related visa categories.
• Familiarity with UK security clearance processes for government contracts.
• Proven ability to draft and negotiate commercial contracts and NDAs.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate compliance records.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with UK leadership, recruitment teams and external counsel.
