Legal Counsel – MedTech (India)

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Legal Counsel to act as a trusted advisor for our MedTech business in India. You will provide practical, business‑focused legal guidance across commercial contracts, project claims, tendering, employment matters and product regulations, helping the company grow while managing risk.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate domestic and international commercial contracts, PPPs, consortium, pre‑bid, sales/purchase, work, framework and service level agreements.
• Create standard agreement templates and specialised documents such as affidavits, indemnity bonds and corporate guarantees.
• Advise project teams on contractual rights, obligations and remedies throughout execution and manage contract‑related claims.
• Ensure compliance with med‑tech product laws, healthcare collaboration regulations and public procurement rules.
• Conduct training sessions on key legal topics and contribute to company policy development.
• Handle employee‑relations issues, workplace grievances and disciplinary proceedings.
• Manage pre‑litigation matters and coordinate with external counsel for litigation, arbitration and regulatory investigations.

Required profile

• Law degree from a recognised Indian law college.
• 5‑8 years of post‑qualification experience in a legal function, preferably within commercial or MedTech environments.
• Strong contract drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Good analytical, problem‑solving and independent‑working skills.
