Legal Counsel

About the role

Leegality is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its fast‑growing team. The role is hybrid, supporting the company’s compliance‑focused products that enable digital signatures, contract management and data‑privacy solutions for thousands of Indian businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and advise on client and vendor contracts, including NDAs, MSAs, SaaS licensing and other commercial agreements.
• Manage the contract management tool and ensure accurate record‑keeping.
• Strengthen corporate policies and compliance frameworks, with a focus on data‑protection and privacy regulations.
• Provide strategic legal counsel to internal stakeholders on electronic signatures, stamping, financial regulation and other operational matters.
• Support sales, marketing and product teams by interpreting regulatory frameworks and creating legal content such as whitepapers and marketing collateral.

Required profile

• Proven experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
• Strong knowledge of Indian data‑protection, privacy and electronic signature regulations.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally and communicate legal concepts to non‑legal teams.
• Detail‑oriented with a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
