Legal Counsel – Corporate & IP

About the role

The Legal Counsel will provide proactive legal support to business units and manufacturing sites across India, helping them achieve strategic objectives while managing legal risk. This role involves drafting, negotiating and reviewing a wide range of commercial and IP agreements and representing the company in various legal proceedings.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and vet agreements, contracts and MOUs for complex business transactions.
• Negotiate contract terms with external parties and finalize agreements.
• Strategize, comment on, and prepare defenses for writ petitions, arbitration, trademark and labour law matters.
• Brief counsel and law firms, and manage litigation and arbitration proceedings.
• Interact with cross‑functional teams and external agencies to resolve legal issues.
• Maintain and update Legal MIS, ensuring accurate case records.
• Handle IP matters independently, including trademark registration, prosecution, oppositions and related disputes.

Required profile

• Undergraduate law degree from a recognized university.
• 5‑7 years of experience, preferably in the manufacturing sector or corporate practice at a reputed law firm.
• Strong sense of ownership, responsiveness to deadlines and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent drafting, analytical, logical and negotiation abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication, attention to detail and teamwork orientation.
