Legal Associate – Litigation & Policy Research

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Legal Associate to join our litigation team in Chennai. The role involves supporting senior lawyers across civil, criminal, company, environmental and tribunal matters, and contributing to policy research initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and finalize pleadings, affidavits, petitions, contracts and legal opinions for various courts and tribunals.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research, analyse statutes and case law, and prepare concise case notes.
• Assist senior lawyers during hearings, client meetings and court appearances.
• Coordinate with clients to gather facts, documentation and provide case updates.
• Maintain organized case files, timelines and docket management systems.
• Support policy research and provide legal inputs for policy design and implementation.

Required profile

• LL.B. degree with enrollment at a State Bar Council (LL.M. or certifications are a plus).
• Strong foundation in civil, criminal, company and tribunal practice.
• Prior internships or experience in litigation or policy research preferred.
• High level of integrity, attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
