Learning & Development Trainer

About the role

We are looking for a Learning & Development Trainer to build and run the training function for a fast‑growing gourmet ice‑cream brand. Based in Chennai, you will design curricula, deliver classroom and on‑floor sessions, and travel across Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad to support store teams and franchise partners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a structured training curriculum for all store roles, defining competencies, assessments and certification standards.
• Plan and execute the annual training calendar, covering onboarding, refresher modules, new product launches, SOP roll‑outs and franchise onboarding.
• Deliver training personally – both classroom and on‑the‑floor – and conduct regular visits to stores in the three city clusters.
• Lead and mentor a small training team (Lead Trainer and city‑level trainers), set delivery standards and monitor performance.
• Create training collateral such as manuals, SOP videos, quick‑reference cards, e‑learning modules and assessment sheets.
• Partner with HR, Operations and Cluster Managers to identify skill gaps, design PIPs and feed insights into hiring and operational processes.
• Track and report metrics on training coverage, completion rates, post‑training performance and certification status.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in training and development, preferably in QSR, F&B, café, bakery or organised retail.
• Proven ability to design training content from scratch and adapt delivery style for mixed audiences.
• Strong on‑floor presence with the capability to demonstrate, observe, correct and coach in a live store environment.
• Willingness to travel regularly across Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
• Experience managing a small team of trainers.
