Lead Software Engineer (Secrets Manager & AI Identity)

About the role

Lead Software Engineer on the Secrets Manager team, responsible for designing and developing the application stack that enables developers, DevOps, and security teams to store, manage and deploy sensitive credentials. The role is hands‑on, driving architecture and technical direction without people‑management duties.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy and operate secure, performant services across the Secrets Manager suite, owning them end‑to‑end.
• Set engineering standards, maintain testing, error handling, API design and secure‑coding practices, and keep CI/CD pipelines robust.
• Maintain clean service boundaries and resilient APIs, guiding medium‑term technical direction.
• Mentor engineers through pair programming, design reviews and technical guidance.
• Improve codebase health by addressing performance, reliability, accessibility and technical debt.
• Own operational health, performance and reliability telemetry of production services.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Security and other engineering teams to validate solutions before implementation.

Required profile

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of leading technical direction and mentoring senior engineers.
• Deep expertise in C#/.NET and strong proficiency in Rust or TypeScript/Angular, with willingness to deepen the other.
• Proven ability to modernize live codebases through incremental migrations without disrupting delivery.
• Experience with Entity Framework, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, and languages such as Go and Python.
• Familiarity with infrastructure tooling like Terraform, Ansible, GitHub Actions and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Hands‑on experience with SDK/API design, automated testing frameworks and SRE observability tools.
• Understanding of zero‑trust, zero‑knowledge security architectures and threat‑modeling.
