Lead Manufacturing Design Engineer

About the role

We are a fast‑growing technology organization delivering engineering and manufacturing services worldwide. We are seeking a Lead Manufacturing Design Engineer to join our Coimbatore office and lead product‑line projects for US clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary projects, providing expert guidance and training to team members.
• Create 3D models and 2D drawings at the product‑line level for automotive, structural, control, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic components.
• Develop product‑line 3D assembly models and manage engineering data.
• Perform system simulation, analysis, and apply Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA, DFMA, and other process‑planning tools.
• Design facilities layout, line design, standardized work, and automation solutions including robotics, PLCs, and tool/fixture design.
• Collaborate with operations, supply‑chain, and quality teams to ensure seamless product development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Automobile, Mechatronics or a related field.
• 7‑10+ years of experience in engineering design, product development and manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CAD/CAM software, especially SolidWorks.
• 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation.
• Lean Manufacturing, Process Planning, PFMEA, Control Plan, DFMA.
• Facilities layout, line design, standardized work.
• Factory automation, robotics, PLC programming.
• Tool and fixture design.
• System simulation and analysis.
