Lead Engineer - Substation Secondary

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Engineer – Substation Secondary to join our Transmission & Distribution team in Bengaluru, India. The role involves leading design and engineering activities for high‑voltage grid substations, providing technical guidance, and ensuring high‑quality, cost‑effective solutions for global energy projects.

Key responsibilities

• Lead large design engineering teams in HV/EHV substation secondary design and deliver technical input for studies and designs.
• Develop study and design procedures, cost estimates, and technical effort estimates for projects.
• Perform quality control reviews of design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Prepare technical specification sections and contribute to engineering budget and schedule planning.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Engineering (or equivalent) with 8‑12 years of experience in grid substation design.
• Proven experience leading large design teams on HV/EHV substation projects for utilities or global consultancies.
• Familiarity with international standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI, Australian, Middle‑East codes) and substation protection, relay coordination, SCADA and communication protocols.

• HV Plant Design for EHV Grid Substations.
• Substation Protection and Control Scheme design, relay coordination, and settings.
• SCADA systems, communication protocols, GIS and AIS for substation secondary design.
• Knowledge of IEC, IEEE, ANSI, Australian and Middle‑East standards.
