Lead – Direct Taxation

About the role

The Lead – Direct Taxation will own the end‑to‑end compliance and advisory function for direct taxes across the organisation. Reporting to senior finance leadership, this role ensures accurate tax filings, manages audits and supports strategic tax planning initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee direct tax compliance, including tax audits, filing of returns and advance tax payments.
• Prepare and submit documentation for tax assessments and litigation at various jurisdictional levels.
• Provide transaction tax advice, covering TDS and withholding tax implications.
• Assist in the preparation of tax policy representations and drive tax planning projects.
• Represent tax interests in M&A transactions to optimise business and tax outcomes.
• Advise on tax aspects of agreements with customers and vendors, negotiate terms and ensure implementation.

Required profile

• 5‑8 years of post‑CA qualification experience in direct tax.
• Strong understanding of tax treaties and domestic tax legislation.
• Proven ability to manage complex tax compliance and advisory tasks.
