Lead Controller – Financial Reporting, Close and Audit

About the role

The Lead Controller will be the primary accounting lead for Relay Human Cloud’s monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting processes. This hands‑on professional will coordinate close activities, prepare consolidated financial statements, support audits and ensure accurate, well‑documented accounting work delivered on schedule.

Key responsibilities

• Own and administer the monthly, quarterly and annual close calendar, managing deadlines, dependencies and escalation points.
• Coordinate close activities across legal entities, business units and accounting resources.
• Review journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, consolidations, intercompany eliminations and supporting schedules.
• Ensure all material balance‑sheet accounts are reconciled, supported and reviewed each reporting period.
• Identify and resolve unexplained balances, aged reconciling items, classification errors and duplicate entries.
• Maintain an audit‑ready electronic close binder and discipline over period‑close processes.
• Prepare and review consolidated balance sheets, statements of operations, cash‑flow statements and related schedules.
• Produce monthly management reporting packages with clear explanations of material variances.
• Review results for unusual trends, inconsistencies, margin anomalies and potential accounting errors.

Required profile

• Experienced accounting professional with a strong background in financial close, consolidation and reporting.
• Hands‑on ability to review detailed work, identify unsupported balances and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Effective communicator who can work closely with the CFO, accounting team and external auditors.
• Familiarity with SEC reporting requirements, treasury and tax strategy considerations.
