About the role

Hudl is seeking a Lead Backend Engineer to drive the development of scalable tools and workflows that power its global sports analytics platforms. The role combines full‑stack engineering with leadership, supporting professional and grassroots teams worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale full‑stack features across Hudl’s sports technology products.
• Collaborate with engineering, QA, product, design, and scrum teams across multiple regions.
• Lead technical discussions, architecture decisions, and implementation planning.
• Solve complex, ambiguous technical problems with scalable solutions.
• Improve analyst training tools, operational workflows, and contribute to AI/ML‑driven automation initiatives.
• Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance, and champion high‑quality engineering practices.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of full‑stack software development experience.
• Current experience in a product‑based organization.
• Strong hands‑on background in backend development (C#, Node.js, Java, or Python).
• Ability to work across technologies with a language‑agnostic mindset.
• Experience designing and building scalable web applications and leading large product or platform initiatives.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, comfortable with globally distributed teams.
