Lead Associate – Accounting

About the role

The Lead Associate – Accounting will play a key role in delivering high‑quality financial accounting across the Group, focusing on IFRS application, statutory reporting and consolidation. You will support acquisition accounting, enhance financial controls and work in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and update the IFRS 16 lease accounting model in partnership with Estates and FP&A.
• Support IFRS 15 revenue recognition processes and ensure accurate application.
• Prepare annual Expected Credit Loss (ECL) models and assess outcomes.
• Monitor new IFRS standards, evaluate impact and implement changes across the Group.
• Prepare trial balances for each IFRS entity and contribute to monthly consolidation.
• Assess acquisition IFRS conversion requirements, assist with Purchase Price Allocation and integrate acquisition financials.
• Contribute to the preparation of monthly consolidated balance sheet and cash‑flow statements.
• Provide technical support to the Director of Group Finance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• 5–7 years of relevant post‑qualification industry experience.
• Fully qualified Chartered Accountant (CA).
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS with hands‑on application.
• Proven experience in group statutory accounts preparation, large consolidations and acquisition accounting.

Required skills

• IFRS 16 lease accounting.
• IFRS 15 revenue recognition.
• Expected Credit Loss (ECL) modeling.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query.
• Experience with Planful consolidation tool.
• Proficiency with ERP systems.
