Lead Android Engineer – Mobile Apps & SDKs

About the role

Freshworks is looking for a Lead Android Engineer to own the technical direction of its Android applications and SDKs. You will set architectural standards, make key technology decisions, and ensure the stability, performance, and release health of the products you oversee.

Key responsibilities

• Define and evolve Android architecture across multiple apps and SDKs, including module boundaries, dependency graphs, state management, navigation, and offline sync strategies.
• Lead design reviews, mentor engineers, and pair‑program on complex problems.
• Collaborate directly with Product, Design, Backend, and QA teams to shape features and deliver high‑quality releases.
• Write production‑grade code for the most challenging parts of the system and act as the escalation point for technical issues.
• Document consequential technical decisions and ensure long‑term contract compliance for public APIs.

Required profile

• Hands‑on senior engineer with extensive experience building Android applications at scale.
• Proven ability to lead technical discussions, mentor teams, and drive architectural decisions.
• Strong ownership mindset and a track record of delivering stable, performant mobile products.
