Lead AI Designer – Agentic AI (L6)

About the role

Mastercard is building the next generation of AI‑native products for its Operational Intelligence suite. As a Lead AI Designer – Agentic AI (L6), you will design, develop, and scale enterprise‑grade autonomous AI systems that combine large language models, advanced orchestration, and contextual memory.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop intelligent AI systems for reasoning, diagnostics, anomaly detection, workflow automation, and operational recommendations.
• Build modular LLM‑driven workflows for planning, retrieval, summarization, tool execution, classification, and autonomous decision support.
• Develop stateful, deterministic execution flows with routing logic, fallback handling, confidence scoring, guardrails, retry mechanisms, and human‑in‑the‑loop intervention.
• Engineer reusable AI orchestration services using frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, OpenAI Agent SDK, AutoGen, Strands, AgentCore, Semantic Kernel, or equivalents.
• Design and implement contextual memory systems, including session, long‑term, semantic/vector, episodic, and graph‑based relationship memory.
• Build enterprise grounding and retrieval capabilities leveraging Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), Graph RAG, structured retrieval, and other enterprise‑scale techniques.

Required profile

• Proven hands‑on experience building enterprise‑grade AI products that integrate large language models and autonomous reasoning.
• Ability to translate complex business workflows into scalable, production‑ready AI solutions.
• Strong background in AI system architecture, orchestration, and memory frameworks.
• Senior‑level expertise (L6) with a track record of delivering AI solutions from concept to production.
